Happiness Is Free - Reasons Giftcoin Will Be Successful

Why Would I Invest In Giftcoin?

There are thousands of Blockchain platforms/projects currently out there with different range of problems they hope to solve, the problem is that most of these projects are duds and fade off not so long after the ICO with investors incurring losses. So I try as much as possible to do my due diligence before investing in ICO so as not to lose my money.
There are certain markers I investigate before reaching a conclusion on an ICO, they are; The Project, The Team, The Roadmap and the ICO structure. If I can judge these markers to check out I proceed to invest without doubt.

The Project

The level of worldwide acceptance of any off-chain industry is very important when analyzing how a project in that sector will perform as a blockchain project.
The off-chain charity sector is an industry that realizes around $500 billion in donations yearly.  This already is a very big industry that isn’t focused on making profits but with the aim to gather as much funds as possible to help people so therefore any way in which this money generated can be increased and also spent in a more transparent and effective way will be widely accepted.
After analyzing the project as I have in the earlier parts of this series, based on the information so far, I give Giftcoin the pass mark as a solid project worthy of investing.

The Team

When analyzing this part of a project I always classify team and advisors of the project in that same category, why? Because a mixed balance of experience is needed across different fields and where the team lacks they can have advisors to fill the void.
Analyzing the Giftcoin team I realized they have some all-stars on the team like the Founder Alex Howard who In 2004 Alex founded "The Optimum Health Clinic", a leading integrative medicine clinic in the world that spans across over 40 countries, but now run as a UK charity. He has founded other charitable startups and has grown a reputation for himself in Europe and other parts of the world. This is an All-star for me because this isn't just someone who just woke up with an idea and wants to raise funds for a project without prior experience in the required sectors.
The second all start for me on the team is Ben Evans who was previously at Morgan Stanley, where he was chief performance engineer for the Google IPO in 2004. It rarely gets bigger than this. Ben is definitely an all-star team member, he is the co-founder and CEO at JClarity a company based in London that solves java/JVM performance problems with machine learning with the help of industry experts.
These are reputable members of the team and in my two main standouts from a really strong team. As far as the advisors go, technology and marketing experts like "Marc Avedissian" (Founder and CEO of fiat token Altalix Ltd) and "Jonas Karlberg" (CEO and founder of Amazix) are the kind of people you want to have advising a blockchain project.
I am convinced this is a team capable of reaching its set goals and is well advised.  The full bio of team member through their LinkedIn profiles is available on Giftcoin’s website https://www.giftcoin.org  I recommend you do due diligence and carry out your own research.

The Roadmap

The main marker I look at when checking out the roadmap of a particular project is the working prototype. As for good projects without an already released working version it is always important to look into how long away before the prototype gets released. If it’s not too far away then I can make an exception if other aspects of the project checks out.
The roadmap of this project shows that the first MVP release is coming July 2018 which will meet all the core requirements for the platform to exercise its purpose. This will hopefully encourage the first set of charity organizations to adopt the Giftcoin platform and a roll out of a working cryptocurrency. The Beta version will be rolled out by September 2018 and the full final product in October 2018.
The absence of the already working prototype at this stage for me raises some eyebrows, but for the fact that it would be out by July means it’s not such a long time to wait before a first working version is released and adoption can begin.
This is definitely a token I will be looking to Hodl on the long term.

The Token Sale/ICO Structure

The token sale started on the 20th of march and will end on the 19th of April. The current stage offers 5% bonus on tokens purchased before 9:30 EDT on April 3rd. Investors need to get white listed and pass a KYC before being eligible to invest in the token sale with ETH and BTC being accepted as forms of payment.
Ticker: GIFT
Token type: ERC20
ICO Token Price: 1 GIFT = 0.1000 USD
Fundraising Goal: 10,000,000 USD
Total Tokens: 1,000,000,000
 Minimum Personal Cap: 0.25 ETH
In this section the hardcap of $10 million and token price of $0.1 is very good token metrics and will mean investors can easily make good ROI with the appreciation in value of gift tokens.

Conclusion

The project, team and ICO structure checks out although the absence of a working prototype raised some eyebrows about this project but I in my personal opinion believe July is not too long a time to wait for the projects implementation since most crypto projects take longer before a mainnet is released.
In the next part of this series I will be performing a SWOT analysis of the Giftcoin project to properly gauge my expectations of this project.
