Ethereum Classic Vision - Effectively Protected Against Malicious 51% Attacks

Image
The cryptocurrency space has repeatedly come under different forms of malicious attacks to date with traders, exchanges and blockchains being targets of these attacks at different points in time losing millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrencies in the process. Bitcoin, ethereum, and the majority of other blockchains run on the proof of work PoW consensus algorithm. This has proven time and time again to be not only inefficient but also insecure. Insecurity of PoW All blockchains that run on Pow are vulnerable to a malicious attack called the "51% attack". A 51% attack is possible when a mining pool is able to attain more than 50% of the whole hashrate in a particular blockchain's network. When a mining pool or miner gains this, they will be able to rewrite the blockchain ledger (blockchain reorganization) and then steal the native cryptocurrency of that blockchain through an act called a "double spend". 51% attacks are not fictional this is a very ...

Ethereum Classic Vision - Ethereum Hardfork With Solutions To The Present Cryptocurrency Problems

Image
Introduction The invention of the blockchain and bitcoin 10 years ago set in motion the decentralization movement. One which aims to shift the paradigm of the present financial system of things and usher in a new era in which peer to peer transactions can take place between two or more parties in a trustless system without the interference of any government or central body. In the year 2013 ethereum was invented. A different cryptocurrency capable of making faster transactions and a blockchain that can be used as a base for the development of other cryptocurrencies and blockchains. Over the years thousands of other cryptocurrencies and blockchain projects have been created, indicating an increased adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain in providing solutions to real life problems. This increased adoption has begun to bring to light some of the shortcomings of the present cryptocurrencies and blockchains. Bitcoin and Ethereum's transactions are no longer fast enough,...

Shivom - Business Analysis

Image
In this piece i will be performing a business analysis of the Shivom Blockchain project using a tool known as SWOT Analysis which is used to highlight the internal and external factors of a project or business. SWOT  means Strength(s) Weakness(es) Opportunity(ies) and Threat(s).  SHIVOM  SWOT Analysis Strengths The strengths of  shivom  lies in the technology, concept and rarity. Never before has it being done that a blockchain project will take medical science to the lengths of genomic technology. This is a game changer, the blockchain integration means data can be stored securely and transparently which is obviously absent presently.  Medical innovations is a very important topic that affects everyone directly or indirectly and with shivom we can all contribute to the future of medicine and also get rewarded for participating. This in itself will drive more people to adopt the technology as soon as it is mainstream. Weaknesses The most obv...

Will I Invest In Shivom or Not?

Image
Shivom Yes or No? Shivom is a great project with a really innovative concept. The technology is game changing and the community is large, however a lot of projects share these values and still fail to reach their potentials. That said, i will be assessing this project based on some key factors like their progress so far, the team behind the project, and their plans for the future. Ill like to state that the points below are strictly personal and do not serve as any form of investment advice,  so kindly do due diligence and make your own research. The Progress So Far Prototype:  The project has made great strides so far, with great partnerships already made but the absence of a beta prototype is surely raising some eye brows but that is slated to be released in Q2 2018 which is already not far away again. A release of this will surely kick start the mass adoption for this project, so i am looking forward to that. Already Making a Difference:  The team is de...

Personal Data Market is Flawed - PDATA Tackle's This Flaws

Image
Data Market: A Limited Market The data brokerage market is a multi billion dollars one. Zettabytes of data are exchanged yearly between the brokers and the customers (companies and industries). The data market is nevertheless flawed. Companies pay highly for data but more often than not, the acquired data seldom have the required effect on the upturn of revenues or maximizing profit. Why does this happen? Online Spying The answer lies in the data gathering process. Data brokers often acquire personal data through back doors and online spying on consumers and this may have proven to work in the past but recently people have become more aware of their security and take necessary measures to protect their personal data or provide false information when browsing the Internet or during similar activities. This result in users giving off false and incomplete or inconsistent data, the brokers gather these data anyway and still sell for the same value. Photo by bruce mars from...

How Important is Opiria and PDATA?

Image
The Importance of OPIRIA to Companies and Organizations An idea, a thought, an inspiration, a dream, this are the beginnings of every groundbreaking inventions. Every innovation starts with a spark then a series of inspirations and packaging, which then marks to the beginnings of multi-million dollars enterprises.  This however does not guarantee success. The ability of companies not only to provide what consumers need/want but also to adapt to factors like; competition, changing market landscape and conditions global branding and many more, is what sets apart the thriving companies, brands and organizations from the ones who fail to reach their goals or eventually fold up. Data is Important The best way these thriving and successful companies adapt to the changing market and maintain a competitive advantage is by investing millions of dollars into consumer driven research, which involves the acquisition of personal consumer data. The quality of data acquired can decid...
